He Was There All Along

What must it have been like for the disciples who were walking with Jesus from Jerusalem to Emmaus? Why didn’t they recognize Jesus was with them? Was it grief? Were they not expecting that what Jesus said about the resurrection was true? Was there some supernatural thing going on that kept them from recognizing Jesus until the appropriate time? Even Mary in the garden didn’t recognize Jesus at the resurrection.
