Advent Devotional: Casey
This Advent we are asking people to respond to one or both of these questions:
“When or where have you felt the presence of God most closely?”
“Who has shown you that God is near to you?”
This is what Casey, had to say:
“My closeness to God has been felt many times on my life’s journey. Because it takes time and trial after trail to learn to trust my faith and depend on following the Holy Spirit. When I feel so weak in my coping with the shock and trauma of what has happened, I remember my faith has always supported me to find a feeling of peace.
Then I can face tomorrow.
I had one boss during my career that I could not please. It did not matter how hard I tried, I could never feel the satisfaction that I had pleased him. In the depth of my frustrations and emotions I prayed. As I was seeking help, I heard in my mind, “I am with you.”
I felt a warmth of peace come over me. To this day, when I heard the words in scripture, I relive the experience and the guidance that came to my heart.”
