Advent Devotional 16
I was thinking of one of the amazing gifts God has given me, and I thought about kindness. It is like a piece of me that wants to help others and make people laugh. I feel really happy when I make someone smile, and especially when I make someone laugh really hard.
I have learned kindness from my family and friends. For example, my grandparents always do things to support me. They come to all of my sports, they support me in everything I do, and they are kind, thoughtful, and are super nice to everyone they meet. Another example is my parents. They love me, care about me, and volunteer for a lot of things at school, like Art Sparks, and Dad at Hart, even lead a Bible Study for me and my brother’s classes. And on top of their jobs, they coach me and all my friends – even when I’m sick or can’t play – they are still being kind and helping others by being there.
I think God gave me the gift of kindness so that I can pass it on to other people. We are supposed to live like Jesus, and the more people that have kindness, the more people can pass it on throughout the years. Even when times are really hard, kindness can make everything a little better.
Thank you for giving me the ability to be kind, God. I’ll do my best to share it with everyone I meet.
