Rev. Katrina Smith

Pastor of Student and Family Ministries

A bit about Katrina:

Tell us something about your family:

I’m married to Joshua since 2017. Joshua is a paramedic for Hopkins County EMS.

We immensely enjoy everything outdoors (baseball, fishing, hiking, camping).

We have one little boy, Lincoln.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

What is your education background?

I hold a BA in psychology from McMurry University and a D.Min. from Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology, SMU.

How long have you been on staff at Creekwood UMC?

I’ve been on staff since February, 2018.

Describe your current role at the church?

I have the honor and privilege of serving as the pastoral team lead for our Family Ministry department. Weekly I enjoy getting to spend a time connecting with our 7-12th grade students and their families through Sunday School, Sunday Night Live (during Creekwood+ time) and High School Bible Study.

What has been your ministry experience in the past?

Full-time student/family ministry in the Texas and North Texas conferences of the UMC since 2009 (including Bridge City, Rockwall & Irving.)
