A bit about John:

Tell us something about your family?

Married to Krista since 2015. 2 kids, Everly and Tucker.

Tell us something about you and/or your family that you don’t mind sharing?

My wife, Krista is a former teacher. She’s now the best stay-at-home mom ever. In addition to leading worship at Creekwood, I am the Technical Systems and Solutions Manager at a non-profit called Essilor Vision Foundation. We provide vision services to underserved children and support eye doctors across the country in charitable efforts in their communities.

What is your favorite Bible verse?

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.

~ Colossians 1:10-15

What is your education background?

Dallas Baptist University BA Biblical Studies; MA in Nonprofit Leadership

How long have you been on staff at Creekwood UMC?

March 2019

What is your current role at the church?

I have the best job at the church! I get to lead the church in worship each week, hopefully giving people an opportunity to experience God and glorify Him through the songs we sing.

What has been your ministry experience in the past?

Spent 3 summers in Memphis at an organization called Service Over Self which led youth groups from all over the country in repairing homes and creating relationships in an underserved neighborhood. I have led worship whenever I’ve had the opportunity since high school but Creekwood is the first time I’ve gotten to do so long term.
