Award-winning author, Cecil Taylor will discuss principles from his newest book, Unison Parenting.

Taylor draws from the first two chapters of Unison Parenting to lay a foundation for parents.

• Proactive Parenting is planning a structured policy for how partners choose to parent, then implementing it. The parents agree on core values, a framework for behavior, and policies which implement, monitor, and reward or assign consequences for child behaviors. This is steady-state parenting.

• Reactive Parenting addresses when life throws a curve. Taylor shares a model for how parents can remain unified when dealing with the unexpected and the confusing.

Parents should come away from the seminar with the basics for setting a family framework and some key introductory points for staying in unison.

About Cecil Taylor

With more than 30 years’ experience as an adult Sunday School teacher and as many in youth ministry, Cecil Taylor has impacted lives in local churches throughout his adult life. He founded Cecil Taylor Ministries to broaden that impact, teaching Christians to live a seven-day practical faith by providing them books, video studies, blogs, podcasts, and speaking engagements. His ministry is cross-denominational, focused on the common struggle Christians face in putting their faith into practice and applying scripture and faith principles to life situations.

Cecil has written three award-winning books. His fourth, Unison Parenting, releases widely on Sept. 17. In addition to blogging on his website, Cecil is a contributing writer for Chicken Soup for the Soul, Inspiration.org, and ChristianPublishers.net.

Married 38 years with three adult children, Cecil holds a bachelor’s in computer science and an MBA. His interests are sports, fantasy football, music, gardening/landscaping, miniature golf, pin collecting, saxophone, and travel.
