How YOU Can Get Involved..
September 9-16 :: You can be a blessing to families in need of lodging, hot meals, and fellowship! Creekwood will host families in the Student Center. Show the love of Christ through gracious hospitality and care of these families in the midst of challenges. There are many serving opportunities. Please volunteer for this hosting here. If you have any questions or if you will be a first-time Family Promise volunteer, please contact Lauralee Campbell, Barrie Heres, or Sue Jarvis. Learn more about the Family Promise program here.
Creekwood UMC, in partnership with Harper Elementary in Princeton, TX, has established Harper's Helpers, a program to train and match Creekwood members with students pre-K through 5th grade to be classroom helpers, assist teachers with classroom tasks, provide tutoring in small group settings, and to be a positive role model for children in the class. There are also opportunities for serving as a breakfast volunteer or lunchroom helper throughout the school year. There will be two training sessions to kick off the school year. Please plan to attend on September 23 or September 30 at 12:00pm in Room 109. The training will last approximately 45 minutes. Contact Jen Still for more information.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
It's that time of year again and Creekwood is excited to share our Fall Build dates! Are you ready to get building?
We have two build dates lined up specifically for Creekwood volunteers over the next couple of months. We have committed to providing 20 volunteers for each build day along with lunch and water for our group and the build leaders. We are participating in an annual Methodist church build when we partner with several local churches to complete a house. We are building a beautiful home for the Tutt Family.
All build dates begin promptly at 8am and end at approximately 3pm. Do you have a few hours this fall to commit to helping? We would love to see you there. Sign up here. You may also email Christina Shepard to confirm participation in any of the build dates or to provide food.
September 29, 8am-3pm::Tentative Job-Install blue board and house wrap.
October 13, 8am-3pm::Tentative Job-Caulking and exterior paint.
If you are new to Habitat, you must take a one-time orientation class before joining a build. Contact Christina for more information.
If you would like to volunteer on Wednesdays, please email Christina, and she will connect you with the Habitat Build Leaders.
